Finding the ‘right’ counsellor can be a confusing undertaking - coming for therapy is a big deal. The thought of it may be scary; the prospect of facing issues which perhaps have been concealed for a long time can be overwhelming.
As an experienced counsellor I will accompany you in your journey, no matter how difficult things may appear.
I work primarily with clients suffering from anxiety and depression; but specialise in conflict, unresolved grief and loss - those issues which can play painfully over and over in your mind in a seemingly endless cycle.
Sometimes we all have things that we need help facing, figuring out, and overcoming. It might be an overpowering life event, a crippling trauma, a transition, or life changes that may be hard to understand, move past, or accept.

I offer a secure and supportive non-judgmental environment, where clients can feel comfortable enough to explore those issues which cause concern or distress.
My therapeutic approach is person-centred - which means I feel that you are the best expert in your own life. I won’t tell you what to do; but I will support you in the process of change and help facilitate that journey.
Therapy inevitably looks beyond presenting problems to possible underlying causes. The aim of therapy is to help you to move toward the person you want to be.
Through my training and experience, I will work with you to understand the answers you may be seeking. Whether you are struggling with a relationship or are experiencing problems at work or home, I am here to provide care, compassion and a professional approach.
As a therapist, my responsibility is to provide a safe and confidential setting in which we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life.

Where I work
Coming for counselling can be stressful enough without having to worry about parking, or finding a toilet – or if it is the case, feeling uncomfortable about being in somebody’s house.
Being mindful of that, I provide a private, neutral space, in a peaceful location where clients don’t have to worry about such concerns.
I work from a comfortable purpose built studio, set in the garden of my cottage in a tranquil village six miles West of Bury St. Edmunds, with all facilities and ample parking (literally five minutes from the A14) and only 35 miles from Cambridge, and 19 miles from Ipswich.
I work during the day and can be available for evening appointments.
How did I become a counsellor?
For many years I worked in the music industry until a personal crisis prompted me to
seek help. From that experience, I derived a deeper knowledge of myself and as a consequence started on the journey to becoming a counsellor.
